| Scope and Content | Collection consists of a 33 page handwritten (photocopy) and typed manuscript. Paper was composed based on an interview conducted by Catherine M. Dooley with Rita Burke Dooley on November 12, 1994, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and a manuscript written by the collector’s grandfather, Donovan Burke, on February 2, 1952 for “The Barrel Man” radio program. Photocopies of Donovan’s handwritten manuscript and two maps of Fogo Island are included. The materials in this collection were submitted as an assignment for the MUN Folklore 3450 course, Language and Play, instructed by Gerald Thomas during the fall 1994 semester. |
