Inset: Island of Newfoundland on the same scale as the general map. Scale [ca. 1:1 460 000]. 49.6 x 45.3 cm. Shows depths by soundings, relief by hachures, coastal names, some drainage including hypothetical, 2 notes (one on population and one on the Treaty of Utrecht), rocks, shoals, and "Jersyman's B." between the Burin Peninsula and Miquelon Island. Also includes some of the Labrador coast. The area of French fisheries is colored yellow. Has a note that: Of the interior of Newfoundland and Breton Island very little is yet known. PRO copy is the Newfoundland inset (with St. John's inset) only. col. 49.2 x 45.9 cm. It was an enclousure to a memorandum on French rights in the Newfoundland Fisheries. It was removed from C.O. 194/118 on 9/10/31. The coastline of areas of French fishing rights are colored yellow, while the rest of the coastline of the island including the St. John's harbor inset, are colored pink for British rights. Has a note that Saint Pierre and Miquelon were restored to France in 1814. Penfold gives dates of 1828; [1843] for it, due to the memorandum's date.

BL Maps copy measures 170.9 x 154.8 cm, on 4 sheets, 62.0 x 78.8 cm each or less. The area of French fisheries has not been colored, though the rest of the coast line and the environs of St. John's has been colored pink on the inset, the main map, and on the inset for Nova Scotia.
